OCTOBER 10th MEETING IN U.S. CONGRESS
THE RE-LAUNCHING OF THE CONGRESSIONAL CAUCUS FOR THE CULTURE OF PEACE AND SDG'S IN THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS
October 10, 2019/ United States Congress, Event in Foreign Affairs Committee room.
Over the past two months, the Inter Parliamentary Coalition for Global Ethics with the participation of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences have moved forward with the partnership to promote mandatory education on the culture of peace and the United Nations SDG's as a major tool to promote global peace and combat all sorts of violence, terrorism, racism, and discrimination as envisaged by the founders of WAAS...The first event took place at the United Nations Headquarters with the patronage of former UNESCO Director General H.E. Frederico Mayor and marked the the 20th and 30th Anniversary of the Declarations on the Culture of Peace at the United Nations ( as inspired by H.Ed. Frederico Mayor). Participants were invited to sign and to publicize the petition on the website of Fundacion Cultura de Paz, founded and directed by H.E. Frederico Mayor
As one of the first steps in this direction, Dr. Alberto Zucconi and some of the participants of the roundtable at the United Nations participated in the re-launching of the Congressional Caucus for the Culture of Peace and SDG's in the United States Congress on September 10th as the first in the series of parliamentary caucuses to be established to move towards this goal.
We look forward to continued partnership with the World Academy of Arts and Sciences and the World Universities Consortium to reach this goal through the compilation of a model curriculum proposal which will be at the disposal of parliamentarians, government officials, educations and private citizens around the globe.
